1. Unpacking your Kuduwave

  • Remove your Kuduwave audiometer, the USB cables, Patient Response Button and ear tips from its packaging.

  • Once your computer is turned on, your Kuduwave will now indicate the right audiometer with a Red light and the left audiometer with a Blue light.

3. Inserting the Patient Response Button

  • Plug the Patient Response Button's USB cable into a third port on your computer or, alternatively, into your Kuduwave's left USB port.

Kuduwave Placement & Using Ear Tips

1. Ear Tip Preparation

  • If the foam ear tips are being used, select the correct ear tip size for your patient. The Kudutips are one-size-fits-all.
  • Align the black tube with the aluminium coupler and insert the coupler into the black tube.
  • If the foam ear tips are being used, pinch and roll the ear tip to its smallest diameter before inserting it into the patient’s ear.

2. Ear Tip Insertion

  • Pull the ear up and backwards, then insert the ear tip into the ear canal.
  • Tip: A slight twist or wiggle will guide the ear tip deeper into the ear canal.
  •  Hold the Kudutip in position until the final moment that the ear cup is placed over the patient's ear.
  • If foam ear tips are being used, make sure the ear tip expands and sits flush with the ear canal.

3. How to place the Kuduwave on a Patient

  • Place the Kuduwave headset on the patient’s head above the ears.
  • Make sure that the red light is on the right-hand side and the blue light on the left-hand side.
  • Insert Kudutip as directed above. If the foam ear tips are being used, pinch and roll the ear tip, then insert as directed above.
  • Pick up the Kuduwave and gently place the ear cups on the patient’s ears.

4. Positioning the Bone Conductor

  • Twist the bone conductor cap until the bone conduction head band is loose enough to move.
  • Hold both ends and gently turn the head band until the bone conductor is positioned in the centre of the patient’s forehead. Ensure that the bone conductor surface with the circular protrusion is placed against the patient’s forehead.
  • Tighten the bone conductor cap to hold it in place.
